Job Summary
  • Delivers a superior new-hire experience for providers and contractors. Responsible for the timely completion of the full cycle onboarding process for final selected physicians and advance practice clinicians (APCs) and other providers working for assigned MedStar entities. Provide one on one support to new providers throughout onboarding process. Assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicates needs proactively and formulates partnerships across the HR functions to deliver value added services to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. Serves as a consultant to management on Human Resource related issues.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education/Training
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience
    • 3 years recent experience Human Resources experience.
  • License/Certification/Registration
    • No special certification, registration or license required. PHR Preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Strong critical thinking, organizational skills, accountability/ownership, and assertiveness. Strong interpersonal and customer services skills for effective communication. Ability to effectively multi-task and work under strict deadlines. Demonstrates problem-solving skills. Knowledgeable of HR and payroll processes and data. Demonstrates organizational and time management skills. Familiarity with federal and state regulations related physicians recruiting. Strict adherence to detail, accuracy and thoroughness. Proficient in MS Office applications, including, Outlook, Word and Excel. Demonstrates proficiency in payroll systems preferred.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists with employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, one-on- one meetings, and town halls.
  • Completes and submits contract amendments and bonus request. Makes sure that they are in line with hiring needs and financial budget for the entity.
  • Coordinates and facilitates orientation for newly hired providers.
  • Data Management: Serves as the PeopleSoft expert, processing data to ensure accurate internal transfers, salary changes, and various other HRIS transactions. Manages the PeopleSoft worklist. Educates managers and associates on PeopleSoft transactions and the use of Self Service. Manages data validation, including job requisitions and terminations. Troubleshoots problems in the PeopleSoft system, researching and investigating historical data to determine resolution. Provides administrative support for Talent Manager and the Merit Tool. Responsible for relevant data collection and sharing (such as MHHRA Survey Report).
  • Departmental Operations: Serves as liaison between associates, management and all other HR functions (HRIS, payroll, benefits, and compensation). Handles complex and/or sophisticated Human Resources matters or projects as needed. Recommends policy changes and/or suggests improvements to current practices. May assist in periodic audits of licensure and certification renewals in support of leadership. May assist in preparation for regulatory and/or accreditation surveys of the facilities supported.
  • Develops and administers programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company. Helps to monitor the organization’s culture so that it supports the attainment of the company’s goals and promotes employee satisfaction.
  • Develops and contributes to the achievement of established Department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and governmental/accreditation regulations.
  • Exhibits working knowledge of current benefits, programs and compensation policies and practices.
  • Follows-up with appropriate departments/ vendors/ candidates at various stages of the process to ensure required documentation is accurate and timely.
  • Maintains employee- related databases. Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.
  • Manages the on boarding process for providers in assigned service area. Collaborates with physician recruiting, maintains required pre-employment documentation for providers and communicates with hiring managers, recruiters, occupational healthand providers on an ongoing process.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings, serves on committees and represents the department as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Protects the interest of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.
  • Provides Generalist support services to the employees of specified areas. Develops effective relationships and partnering skills with management and the support staff. Consults with management/employees concerning interpretation and administration of company policies and procedures. Determines critical needs and provide guidance regarding hiring decisions, and staffing alternatives. Serves as a resource in resolving employee issues that relate to recruitment.
  • Responsible for providing feedback of employee satisfaction with ideas to help improve employee retention rate.
  • Talent Acquisition: Partners with recruiting team on staffing needs and aids in the selection and retention of quality talent as needed. Consults with hiring managers and or recruiters to ensure new hires, promotions, transfers and terminations are processed in accordance with company and legal specifications.
