General Summary of Position:
- Serves as a primary contact to patients, family members, or visitors entering the Washington Hospital Center (WHC). Provides information regarding patients (including status and room number/location), location of services throughout WHC, and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Directs or escorts patients and/or guests to locations throughout WHC. Seeks to solve patient/visitor problems and/or complaints or refers to other personnel.
Education:
- High school degree or GED diploma is required. May require up to l year of technical or other specialized training. Requires the ability to read and write and knowledge of grammar, and arithmetic, including fractions and decimals. May require the use of standard office/medical equipment (i.e., typewriter, personal computer, data terminal, on-line printer, calculator, telephone, facsimile, copier, sterilizing equipment, blood pressure cuff, or tables); the preparation, comparison or checking of reports, records and related data; and basic use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings and knowledge of their application.
Experience:
- From 6 to 12 months experience required in a customer oriented/service industry position.
Certification/Registration/Licensure:
- Commissioned as a Notary Public in Washington, DC or become one within the first 6 months in the position.
