Job Summary
  • Assists gift shop customers with purchases and operates cash register.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education/Training
    • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Experience
    • 1 year related experience.
  • License/Certification/Registration
    • No special certification, registration or license required.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • At close of shift, closes out cash register, accurately completes daily worksheet, validates deposits, secures cash drawers and register keys in file cabinet, obtains batch report, prepares payroll deduction log for delivery to PFS, turns off lights and all equipment.
  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Maintains shop security. Is conscious of shoplifting and quick change artists. Never leaves a register unlocked for any reason. Always completes cash register counting in stockroom. Calls security if anyone in the area is suspicious or makes associate feel uncomfortable for any reason.
  • Operates cash register in an efficient, accurate manner. Performs sales by cash, charge and payroll deductions according to gift shop policies. Is knowledgeable of functions on charge machine.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides excellent customer service with a helpful, friendly and positive attitude.
  • Takes ownership as assigned for particular shop departments; may include display, inventory, ordering, checking in, pricing, etc.
