2 years related security experience preferred.

Valid driver's license in the State of Maryland.

Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
-
Assists in restraints under clinical supervision and direction.
-
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.

Controls parking and traffic flow; enforces parking regulations.
-
Escorts visitors and personnel to parking lots and hospital buildings and provides vehicular transportation as needed.
-
Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.
-
Monitors conduct of patients and visitors on hospital premises; confronts unauthorized persons for questioning as needed.
-
Monitors control center for incoming calls, CCTV, alarms, and access controls.
-
Participates in investigations; maintains records and prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities. Continues to follow-up as needed to bring incident to closure.

Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts as required.

Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams.

Patrols hospital buildings and premises by foot or in vehicle to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders. Reports safety and/or fire hazards or security violations. Interacts with fire and law enforcement officials regarding violations occurring on hospital property.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Places and releases deceased remains.

Responds to inquiries for advice or assistance from hospital personnel and visitors.

Secures and/or unlocks offices and facilities.

Secures patient valuables or lost and found articles; maintains logs of items received.
