General Summary of Position:

Works with Orthopedic Physicians and Nurse Practitioner, aiding the physicians with patient evaluation, including completing patient histories and physical examinations, and consultations, assisting and performing Orthopaedic procedures, as well as acting as a resource for case management.   These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital’s philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Completion and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • 3 - 5 years orthopedic surgical experience preferred.
  • PA certification, Maryland licensure.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care; skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationship with patients, medical staff, and the public. 
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. 
  • Phlebotomy skills required.
