Physician Assistant Inpatient

This position offers you the opportunity to work alongside other Physician Assistants and Hospitalists providing exceptional care to the in-patient units at MedStar Franklin Square.  Evening shifts available with a minimum of one shift per month (2pm - 10pm or 3pm - 11pm).    

• Communicates any clinical change in patient status with attending physician.
• Complies with billing requirements and expectations.
• Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
• Dictates discharge summaries as appropriate.
• Documents legibly and accurately in progress notes.
• Facilitates patient admission, including assessment, orders, medication reconciliation and discussion with attending physician.
• Facilitates patient flow with attention to triage.
• Facilitates placing patient in Observation Status including timely orders and follow up.
• Performs assessment, treatment and documentation of urgent and emergent patient issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supports department through interdisciplinary and staff meeting participation.
