We currently have a PRN (per diem) opening for an Inpatient Physician Assistant to work in the department of medicine providing coverage as needed. This position offers you the opportunity to work alongside other Physician Assistants and Hospitalists providing exceptional care to the in-patient units at MedStar Franklin Square. Evening shifts available with a minimum of one shift per month (2pm - 10pm or 3pm - 11pm).

Communicates any clinical change in patient status with attending physician.

Complies with billing requirements and expectations.

Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.

Dictates discharge summaries as appropriate.

Documents legibly and accurately in progress notes.

Facilitates patient admission, including assessment, orders, medication reconciliation and discussion with attending physician.

Facilitates patient flow with attention to triage.

Facilitates placing patient in Observation Status including timely orders and follow up.

Performs assessment, treatment and documentation of urgent and emergent patient issues.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supports department through interdisciplinary and staff meeting participation.
