Title: Shift Technician – Millwright ($47.50+ per hr)

What do we manufacture?: BEN'S ORIGINAL™ Ready to Heat products 

Required shift: 12 hour rotating shifts

Shift rotates between days (7am - 7:30pm) and nights (7pm - 7:30am) – 2x day shifts, then 2x night shifts, followed by 4x days off.

This position is eligible to receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus. $2500 to be paid at 6 months and $2500 at 12 months of joining our team!

Pay: Minimum $47.50 per hour, depending on experience, with ample overtime opportunities.

Bonus (FIP): Target bonus of 5% of base pay, depending on company performance.

Merit Pay: Annual increase to base pay, based on your performance.

Tools: All hand & power tools provided by Mars.

Job Purpose:

We’re looking for a Shift Technician – Millwright, who will be responsible for on-shift preventive & predictive maintenance, alongside effective troubleshooting & repair of breakdowns across production & utilities.

What will be your day-to-day responsibilities?

  • Adhere to company safety & quality standards and processes.

  • Completion of assigned preventative & predictive maintenance PMs as directed, capturing all relevant information into CMMS system (SAP PM).

  • Provide technical skills required to systematically repair, adjust and maintain processing, filling, conveying, and packaging machinery.

  • Effectively prioritize simultaneous breakdown/reactive maintenance calls, utilizing shift managers & machine operators for support.

  • Other duties include participating in continuous improvement teams, working on new project activities and continuous training.

What technical experience are we looking for?

  • Certified Journeyman – 433A – with 5+ years’ experience working with complex, automated machinery and/or high-speed production equipment.

  • Strong track record of troubleshooting, identifying & fixing root causes in highly automated production equipment.

  • Install, dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery and equipment as required to maintain optimal performance.

  • Basic fabrication (lathes, milling machines) & welding (ARC, TIG, MIG) skills.

  • Able to complete basic electrical troubleshooting & repairs to equipment e.g. replacing a broken sensor / cable.

  • Knowledge of food safety requirements e.g. HACCP, GMP.

  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office & CMMS experience – SAP PM preferred).

  • Peer Relationships – can work effectively with other shift technicians, shift managers and machine operators to complete assigned work & fix breakdowns efficiently.

  • Developing Others – can provide effective coaching and feedback to machine operators to build their capabilities in basic machine set-up & troubleshooting.
