Position Objective:

As part of the Decision Support Team, supports data analysis for the development and monitoring of strategic business plans and business development opportunities for the Health System. Assists the team with obtaining, analyzing, and reporting on clinical, financial, and market data for all aspects of planning and monitoring of new and existing business.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Abstract and manipulate clinical and financial data from the internal data warehouse and other sources to support reporting for all aspects of business and program management using SQL, Excel, QLIK, and other tools as needed.
  2. Ability to summarize data in sophisticated reports with graphs and charts and produce and distribute regular reports from the Strategic Planning and Business Development departments to system administration.
  3. Conduct analysis of and summarization of business, planning, and marketing opportunities including supporting the development of P&L statements and business analyses.
  4. Provide data and information for financial projections evaluating new and existing services.
  5. Ability to work with system leadership with little supervision.
  6. Develop executive presentations using charts, graphs, and graphic representation of data.
  7. Utilize mapping tools to develop visual data displays for geographic analysis (MapInfo, SQL, or Excel).
  8. Monitor hospital-related government and regulatory agencies, including MHCC, for updates that are relevant to AAMC. Attend monthly MHCC meetings and prepare minutes for administration.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree and 4-5 years of healthcare data analytics experience or a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Computer skills required in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, as well as database management including the use of SQL.
  • Excellent analytical, written, interpersonal, independent thinking and communication skills required.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Healthcare experience highly desirable.

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will not be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.

Physical Demands -

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
