IT / AV Assistant – Sky View Observatory (Seattle, WA)

  • Ensure pre-opening walk-throughs are completed to ensure all systems are operational prior to the attraction opening
  • Provide technical support for applications including Ticketing and POS hardware / software
  • Working with 3rd party system providers, diagnose issues and ensure they are addressed
  • Provide troubleshooting for basic infrastructure problems, escalating to external providers as necessary
  • Oversee software maintenance of applications
  • Maintain a high level of system support to end-users at all times
  • Ensure replacement of defective POS, related hardware and audio-visual equipment
  • Ensure an inventory of all POS and audio-visual hardware and network devices is maintained and ensure broken equipment is repaired / replaced
  • Ensure all technical support issues are logged in Legends ticketing system
  • Work with outside partners on implementation, maintenance and support of desktop, network and server infrastructure components
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the organization and adhere to all organizational technology standards
  • Responsible for communicating / promoting IT standards and ensuring they are followed in their facility
  • Assist with the setup for special events
  • Ensure good systems documentation is maintained


  • High School Diploma or GED required with relevant work experience
  • Associated Degree in a technology related field preferred
  • CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification desired
  • Minimum 2 years of Service Desk support
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of supporting PC and / or POS system hardware
  • Good understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting including TCP/IP, VLAN's, wireless LANs
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot AV equipment and systems – i.e. projection systems, display devices, AV control systems, digital signage preferred
  • 1-3 years of application support experience in an environment with more than 100 users
  • The ideal candidate for this position will be performance driven, have outstanding interpersonal skills, and a strong working knowledge of the technical requirements outlined above
  • Must be detail oriented, comfortable problem-solving, organized, service oriented and responsible
  • Excellent verbal, written and influencing skills
  • Eagerness to work in a rapidly changing, diverse environment and a willingness to accept ownership and responsibility of the IT infrastructure to ensure its 24x7 availability
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders to access hardware
  • Must be flexible to be work weekends and to work before, during and after all events (including late nights and weekends)
  • Bi or Multi-lingual a Bonus
