Description

We are looking for a Certified Medicine Aide/GNA to assist in rendering total direct resident care to meet residents’ needs for activities of daily living.

Job Position

Administers prescribed medications and treatments as defined by state regulations 1 to residents and maintains related medical records under supervision of Nurse Supervisor.

Required Qualifications

The Certified Medicine Aide must possess:

  • Must possess a strong service orientation, including active listening, critical thinking skills and close monitoring of clients

  • Basic understanding of medical terminology

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares and administers medications to residents in compliance with all related policies, procedures and regulations

  • Observing and reporting changes of physical and mental conditions of residents

  • Responsible for receiving and accepting assignment

  • Responsible for applying procedures to promote the control of disease and infection

  • Responsible for assuring a comfortable and safe environment

  • Responsible for other duties as designated by charge nurse or supervisor

  • Responsible for performing nursing procedures

  • Other Duties as assigned

Schedule:

  • PRN

  • Weekend availability

Education:

  • CPR and First Aide Certification

  • CMA certification

Experience:

  • Previous experience in long-term care preferred.
