At Laser Spine Institute, the Radiology Technologist is responsible for providing outstanding patient care by using imaging modalities and performing radiographic procedures. The Radiology Technologist will apply the principles of radiation protection and evaluate radiographs for technical quality in accordance with industry best practices and departmental standards. Essential Functions - Duties & Responsibilities


Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Positions X-Ray equipment at proper distance and angle for patients body to present clear and undistorted view.
  • Determines proper voltage, current and exposure time for each radiograph in accordance with individual patients weight, age and health.
  • Monitors and assesses radiology exams and results.
  • Prepares radiology procedures, protocols and manuals.
  • Provides adequate staffing for the Radiology Services.
  • Orders and stocks supplies for laundry for the department.
  • Responsible for making the radiology equipment certification and ensuring the radiology service follows all regulations and guidelines.
  • Warms up X-Ray equipment at the start of every day.
  • Pushes images to Radiologist for final interpretation.
  • Burns and uploads images to and from PACS as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Must be patient-focused and compassionate

  • Proficient in using the c-arm

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited 2-year radiology program

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months or more in the hospital or clinic setting (not including schooling)

License/Certifications:

  • ARRT
  • CPR
