KPMG is currently seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a remote work opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with internal virtualization operations and engineering teams to gather requirements and build as well as deploy appropriate tool; provide technical leadership in the development, integration, and testing of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), supporting multiple geographic locations, network enclaves, and virtual desktop pools
- Offer input on the overall technology plan for the organization, ensuring specific technologies integrate effectively with other aspects of the network security technical infrastructure; collaborate and work effectively with different technology teams and vendors delivering complete networking solutions
- Design, upgrade, test, and modify the VDI environment based on capacity and utilization requirements; troubleshoot and correct detected or reported system and network faults or outages; maintain deep technical and business knowledge of current industry directions and trends; work to deliver technology and products in the roadmap on schedule, and with the highest quality
- Give expert advice and guidance to carry out plans and procedures; ensure product development process adherence, performance and budget targets are met; deliver last tier support for operations and support teams, including root cause analysis and preventative analysis
- Build configuration management, service provisioning, inventory management, resource management, process automation, visibility, and self-service tools; provide training and guidance to other members of the Virtualization Operations and Engineering teams
Qualifications:
- Minimum seven years of recent experience in virtualization design and engineering while managing and supporting large scale projects and automaton; must have experience with cloud hosted VDI
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
- Experienced in engineering, operations and architecture of VD (NetScalerI technologies as well as able to recommend ways to enhance productivity and visibility through standard third-party solutions
- Progressive roles from administrator to senior engineer; background with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix DaaS, Citrix NetScaler/ADC/VPX, Citrix Gateway Service, Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM), Citrix App Layering, Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Hyper V, VMWare ESXi
- Capable of designing new VDI environments and supporting technology solutions; good understanding of multi-site non-persistent and persistent VDI environments
- Strong working knowledge of switches, firewalls and proxy servers; excellent trouble shooting skills
