KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate to join our Federal Advisory practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Review / evaluate financial risk, financial reporting, and accounting transactions processes including controls related to federal entities
  • Research / provide guidance to clients on the application of Federal standards, policies, regulations, and technical guidance
  • Identify / propose corrective actions for reconciliation issues related to posting logic, USSGL compliance, A-136, and areas within financial management for optimization
  • Assist engagements in generating reports, performing reconciliations, and requested information / questions from auditors
  • Investigate / propose solutions for accounting issues, accounting methodologies, and effects on financial statements
  • Perform complex accounting analysis of transactions and balances related to financial statements / trail balances
  • Contribute to design, preparation, and analysis of reports / findings in a clear, logical, and concise manner

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience across:  federal financial management, reporting, auditing or audit readiness
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; CPA / CGFM / CDFM certifications preferred
  • Experience in the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements for U.S. Federal government entities; working knowledge of the USSGL 
  • Experience applying FASAB, Treasury, GAO, and OMB regulations
  • Experience analyzing financial and systems processes and controls
  • Ability to travel as required to support firm engagements
  • Applicant must possess a U.S. Government Secret clearance
