Job Summary

The Sr. Human Resources Generalist's primary responsibility is to parnter with client groups to focus on the HR implications of business strategy decisions to enhance overall organizational effectiveness. In this role, you will proactively determine HR processes/products and services that will effectively move the business forward. Additionally, the Sr. Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in recruitment and development of their client group. Gaining clarity about the organization and it's position expectations and skills requirements and advising hiring manager on candidate selection by leveraging internal/external recruitment resources to achieve a diverse, highly qualified work force. Will also proactively identify and advise in the development of internal talent for key jobs in the organization.

Position Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administer Human Resources functions including personnel action changes, leaves of absence, new hire/termination, and compensation; ensure terminating employees are properly processed; conduct exit interview and work with responsible manager to address and resolve issues raised during exit as necessary.
  • Manage employee relations, conduct investigation through resolution.
  • Ensure adherence to compensation program and performance review process as they relate to hiring and/or performance management.
  • Draft job descriptions as needed for all represented employees in accordance with job description program. Conduct job analysis. Provide job description draft and grade recommendation to job analyst for final review and grading.
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to the functional areas of Human Resources. Ensure compliance with all local laws and/or regulations.
  • Develop and maintain productive and effective relationships with members of assigned departments, co-workers, peers and superiors.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of work ethics and professionalism to members of assigned departments, co-workers, peers and superiors at all times.
  • Set a good example for all employees in performance, attendance, dress, and professionalism.
  • Represent the company in a positive and supportive manner at all times.
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function.
  • Will spend part of his/her time as a member of continuous improvement teams undertaking projects and seeking ways to improve the quality of KSI's products and services .

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of State and Federal employment laws.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources management practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule.
  • Knowledge of ERISA and EBSA
  • Skill in interpreting company policies and practices to employees, supervisors, and managers.
  • Skill in preparing and conductive effective presentations.
  • Skill in conducting extensive research.
  • Skill in coordinating and synchronizing multiple projects.

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, leadership, and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and make decisions within department/company guidelines.
  • Ability evaluate, establish, and improve procedures for accomplishing department objectives.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with many levels of employees of various disciplines within various departments and all other internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to accurately perform detail oriented work and maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
  • Ability to be flexible in changing daily workload priorities as directed.
  • Ability to function in a controlled environment regulated by FDA GMPs and handle extremely confidential data.
  • Ability to drive a car and possess a valid and current California driver's license and personal injury liability insurance.
  • Ability to use MS suite, Word and Excel, and various office machines such as personal computer, copier, telephone, and FAX.

Education and Experience

  • BA degree preferably with Business or HR concentration.
  • SHRM or other professional certification preferred.
  • 5-7 years Human Resources experience in a generalist role.
  • Experience with HRM systems, change management, policy implementation, employee relations, recruitment, benefits and compensation, and policy interpretation is required.
  • Previous experience in a high tech environment is preferred.
  • Experience in a global manufacturing or multiple site production company.
