The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising personnel in the planning and scheduling of work to utilize equipment and maintain maximum productivity levels. The supervisor will coordinate training, enforce safety guidelines, and interface with other departments in support of production. Additionally, the Production Supervisor is responsible for leading training and developing employees, reviewing production records, and administering standard operating procedures. The Phenix City, AL facility, located on the border of Columbus GA, manufactures mineral wool products including industrial boards in various densities, high density batts for use in commercial applications, and a wide range of pipe insulation products. We continue to make significant investments and improvements in our manufacturing processes. Your Day-to-Day: * Support all aspects of a safe work environment including continuously monitoring safety processes and compliance. * Supervise 20-40 production employees, plan and schedule work to utilize equipment, and maintain maximum productivity levels. * Provide leadership by communicating expectations and holding people accountable. Provide positive and corrective feedback as appropriate. Support and implement any special instructions provided by plant leadership team. * Develop and maintain respectful and collaborative relationships * Drive continuous improvement by utilizing key operating indicators for control of product cost, material usage, machine downtime, expenditure control and other shift functions. * Identification of issues/problems and take appropriate and timely actions to resolve. * Monitor product quality and take appropriate actions when not meeting specifications. * Support established environmental procedures and take appropriate action as needed * Maintain reporting procedures including production, quality, attendance, and training * Maintain and enforce good housekeeping What You Bring to the Team: * Previous involvement in safety procedures / programs and a demonstrated commitment to safety * High school degree required * Minimum 3 years supervisory experience managing 20+ employees * Minimum 5 years' experience in an industrial/ manufacturing environment * Effective interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with the ability to lead, train and motivate teams. Including the ability to achieve results through others and hold people accountable. * Proven collaboration skills * Must have the flexibility to work any shift (day / swing / night). * History and desire for continuous improvement including the demonstrated capability to lead change. * Demonstrated ability to identify problems and take appropriate action to resolve. * Work requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, and reach continuously as well as the ability to lift up to approx. 50lbs. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree * Basic understanding of OSHA and environmental compliance * Troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude beneficial Benefits Johns Manville (JM) offers a wide range of benefits to employees.
