The Associate Industrial Product Manager will be responsible for valued assignments and project leadership contributing to the Industrial Insulation portfolio's product development, maintenance, and profitability initiatives. The role will work in conjunction with the Senior Industrial Product Manager, Industrial Portfolio Manager, and other Johns Manville leadership and mentors, to drive and implement strategy for the Industrial business. Additionally, the role will assist in new product development projects and drive the innovation stage gate process for the product portfolio. This role requires extensive cross-functional interaction with sales, finance, operations, SIOP, legal, technical, marketing, supply chain, and manufacturing plants while assisting in managing product lifecycles and the support of the day-to-day Industrial business. The Associate Product Manager role will be the first step in learning the Industrial business and place the candidate on track for a future career path within the product management team. Your Day-to-Day: * Lead and develop all aspects of technical sales support for assigned product lines including development of selling tools and strategies to meet objectives for the product portfolio and market segment profitability. * Coordinate and lead internal and external product training. * Identify product gaps, including through competitive product reviews and visits to contractors and jobsites, to prioritize new product development projects that drive the JM innovation stage gate process from cradle to commercialization. * Use various tools to evaluate and systematically rebalance the portfolio through identification of cost, SKU reduction opportunities, new product requirements and profitability optimization. * Work with the sales team to set target contribution margins and price strategy based on supply/demand dynamics and competitive data. * Work with sales, operations, and supply chain to establish the proper SIOP balance internal operation metrics and external customer expectations. * Provide regular reports and presentations to business leadership on product line and project performance. * Responsibility for updating product technical data sheets, finished product specifications, purchase guides and other product and marketing literature. * Develop and support value propositions for products and systems and educate customers, sales, and customer service teams on the Industrial business. * Work with technical, legal and code management resources to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as requisite specifications and codes (UL, ASTM, etc.). * Work with supply chain, legal, and operations on issues such as supply contracts, trademarks, patents, and ensuring product labels and packaging comply with government regulations and corporate policies. * Work with cross-functional team members (Operations, Engineering, Finance, etc.) on annual cost optimization initiatives developing clear plans for implementation and execution to improve product profitability. * Define customer expectations on product quality. Visit contractors and jobsites. Ensure compliance with all finished product specifications. Identify and understand any product quality issues and opportunities. * Participate in customer activities and industry trade associations. What You Bring to the Table: * Bachelor s degree, engineering or the sciences preferred, with a minimum of 4 years' experience in problem solving analytical type role. * Basic understanding of product management e.g., reviewing income statement, cost analysis, SKU optimization, supporting data requirements for sales team * Proven analytical skills required to collect, structure, analyze data to draw conclusions to develop action plan * Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills * Ability to be proactive, self directive and independent * Ability to be detail oriented, proficient at time management and multi tasking * Knowledge of business acumen, economic theory, financial statements, etc. * Strong project management skills * Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook * Moderate to heavy travel up to 50% both domestic and internationally * Work environment is typical of an office setting * Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 pounds. Applicants can expect to make between $66,000 to $90,000 upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for a target incentive bonus under our variable incentive plan. Benefits Johns Manville (JM) offers a wide range of benefits to employees.
