We’re hiring an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Willingboro, NJ where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The Respiratory Therapist provides intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision. You will evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans, explain procedures and equipment to patients, and provide discharge education.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
- Current New Jersey state respiratory license in good standing.
- One year experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- BLS certification required.
- Experience operating and maintaining mechanical ventilators, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation modalities.
- Experience with arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation.
- Experience performing suctioning, tracheostomy care, endotracheal tube insertion and removal, and emergency airway management.
- Experience performing oximetry, capnography monitoring, 12-lead EKG, and basic arrhythmia recognition.
- Ability to assist with bronchoscopies, chest tube and pleural drainage procedures per facility policy.
- Familiarity with pulmonary function testing and equipment self-testing/maintenance procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Previous hospital experience in acute care or intensive care settings preferred.
- Experience with PleurX or similar chest drainage devices preferred.
