We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Portland, ME where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
- Current state respiratory therapist license in good standing with the State License Board.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
- Minimum 3 years of clinical Respiratory Therapy experience, including experience in tertiary, teaching hospital or level 1 trauma center settings.
- Experience across patient populations: adult acute and critical care required; experience with NICU/PICU, acute pediatrics, and ED preferred.
- Familiarity with ventilators and respiratory support devices, including Dräger V500/VN500, Hamilton T1/C1, Respironics V30/V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm preferred.
- EMR experience; Epic experience preferred.
- BLS required. ACLS preferred. NRP required for NICU assignments.
- Ability to float across units as needed, including pediatric and neonatal areas.

Assignment Details
- Facility type: Hospital.
- Shift: Days.
- Shift hours: 07:00–19:00.
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
- Weekend hours expectation: 36 (per schedule).
- On-call requirement: yes. Two hours report time for the oncoming shift when called.
- Patient ratios: acute ~1:25; critical ~1:8.
- Float requirements: will float to other units as RRT, including NICU/PICU, acute pediatrics, ED, and adult acute/critical care.
