Description

We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Portland, ME where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
  • Current state respiratory therapist license in good standing with the State License Board.
  • Three or more years of recent RRT experience preferred in acute care settings. (Client requires 3+ years.)
  • BLS required.
  • RRT credential required.
  • ACLS preferred.
  • NRP required for NICU assignments.
  • Experience with tertiary, teaching hospital and Level 1 trauma center environments required.
  • Experience providing adult acute and critical care. Float experience to NICU/PICU, acute pediatrics, and ED required.
  • Familiarity with ventilators including Drager V500/VN500, Hamilton T1/C1, Respironics V30/V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm preferred.
  • Experience using EPIC or similar EMR preferred.


Preferred Qualifications

  • NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience preferred.
  • Flexible, team-oriented communicator with strong interpersonal skills preferred.


Assignment Details

  • Shift hours: 07:00–19:00.
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
  • Weekend hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted).
  • Call requirement: yes. Two hours for the oncoming shift.
  • Float requirements: will float to cover NICU/PICU, acute pediatrics, ED, and adult acute/critical care as needed.

As a respiratory therapist with our staffing team, you will support high-acuity care at a tertiary teaching hospital and contribute to multidisciplinary patient care across critical and acute units. This role offers opportunities to develop advanced clinical skills in a Level 1 trauma center environment while supporting varied patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and cardiothoracic patients.
