We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Austell, GA where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
- Current Georgia Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required upon hire or as allowed by employer policy. Instructor-level certifications accepted where listed equivalents apply. NRP provisional acceptable if completed within required timeframe.
- 0–2 years clinical experience with at least 6 months of critical care experience required. Preferred: 1+ year as an RRT in critical care or ICU settings.
- Ability to perform ventilator management, weaning, waveform interpretation, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, airway management (intubation, extubation, tracheostomy care), and administration of aerosolized medications and oxygen/medical gas therapy.
- Experience with pulmonary diagnostic testing, invasive and non-invasive procedures, and cardiac service procedures preferred.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, electronic charting, and teamwork skills. Ability to educate patients, families, and mentor new staff.
