Profile

Create, develop and maintain client-facing and internal documentation for all internal products. Stay abreast of the latest tools and techniques that are used in the technical writing industry. Manage multiple complex assignments simultaneously to achieve established deadlines.



Responsibilities

Perform duties under general directions from the Team Lead

Design, develop and maintain technical and user online help, web content and hard copy documentation

Prepare and provide support for developing program communications, online web content, user manuals, videos, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.

Produce product reference guides and other client-facing materials such as videos, user manuals, installation guides, proposals, and reports, training materials, knowledge-based articles and frequently asked questions and answers.

Independently gather source material through research, meetings and interviews with stakeholders or other means to stay abreast of documentation needs and updates

Create and tailor product documentation, based on target audience, to maximize usability

Estimate completion schedules and participate in project planning to meet deadlines

Head documentation team activities to maintain and improve documentation standards, quality, creation process and delivery

Evaluate and edit customer-facing document design and content created by Support, IT and other Documentation Specialists

Provide expertise and knowledge about new online documentation techniques

Mentor other Documentation Specialists

Backup Team Lead when requested

Other responsibilities as assigned


Experience developing and/or performing customer training is a plus.

Experience using Salesforce ticket and task management system a plus.
Undergraduate degree (English, Journalism or Communications preferred) and/or an equivalent level of recent and relevant experience in the software and/or payroll industries performing communications and/or product documentation will also be considered.

A minimum of 8 years recent and relevant experience as a technical writer of which at least six are in the software industry

Efficient in RoboHelp 2017, Dreamweaver 2017, Adobe Acrobat X Pro and Reader, Microsoft Office Suite, or compatible products.

Expert level experience with HTML required

Strong organizational and time management skills

Highly organized and process-oriented with the ability to handle multiple requests in a timely manner.

Able to work independently, with direction, and in a fast-paced team environment.

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Have excellent reading, understanding, and writing abilities with excellent editing, proofreading and grammar skills.
