Summary:

 The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with litigation support and case management lifecycle as a corporate paralegal, a strong administrative and corporate governance background, experience researching and interpreting Government Contracts and Regulations, (Department of Energy highly preferred) and demonstrated mastery maintaining a docket.

Summary of Duties:

  • Primary Paralegal for day-to-day support of two attorneys; Assistant General Counsel, Employment and Labor, and Assistant General Counsel, Contracts and Procurement
  • Serve as first point of contact for government agencies on charges and complaints
  • Support document collection and production, litigation discovery requests and subpoena responses
  • Issue and manage preservation notices, work with attorneys to develop draft responses to various agencies and outside counsel; track status of various matters
  • Manage policy updates, and version control of various form agreements and processes
  • Update employee/HR training materials
  • Draft and update key documents and letters
  • Respond to information and task requests from external departments
  • Maintain up-to-date tracking of assigned legal tasks, issues and projects
  • Assist in process management of billing, tracking and reporting of outside counsel expenses
  • As required and/or directed, coordinate with outside counsel, internal lawyers, other FM&T functions and counterparts in other departments, divisions, regions and business groups
  • Coordinate receipt of information, reports, updates and feedback related to legal functions across jurisdictions and businesses
  • Administrative and direct support for various Legal Operations projects
  • Provide general support for the legal team across all legal focus area matters including: litigation management, contracts, Intellectual Property management, Corporate Governance and Secretarial Duties

You Must Have:

  • Associates Degree in Legal Studies or a closely related field, or, Paralegal Certification from an ABA accredited certification agency (e.g. AAPI, NFPA, NALS) 
  • Minimum of five years' experience, three years must be litigation support and case management.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” level security clearance
