What will I be doing?
The Senior Manager, Data Governance is a key role in the Data Strategy & Governance tower responsible for introducing and maintaining outstanding data governance standards across the organization.

The leader in this role must be a trusted partner with Business Data Owners/Stewards, Analytics, Legal, Privacy, and Technology ensuring that tools, policies, processes, and standards are defined and adhered to end-to-end. The position leads all aspects of formulating and carrying out Hilton’s data strategy driving Hilton’s business goals and priorities.

More specifically, you will:

  • Develop a dedicated and motivated team of specialists including Data Owners & Stewards
  • Develop and help advance and implement data strategies across Hilton in alignment with Hilton’s corporate vision and strategy
  • Collaborate with the data owners, stewards, information security, privacy, and Technology leadership teams to establish data policies, processes, and standards that drive safe and secure utilization of data specifically including enforcement of data quality, security, and management concepts
  • Establish and enforce the concept of Certified data, ensuring it is fully aligned with the Data Classification Standard and addresses data destruction, data storage & encryption, data retention, email, and other electronic transmissions (e.g., API integrations), labeling, logging, monitoring, secure configuration, and vendor management.
  • Define and implement and maintain a clear data access policy in line with Data Classification standards and the concept of least privilege
  • Establish and continue improving Enterprise Data Catalog as a place providing a simplified and easy to understand view/guide to Enterprise and Business Data Products
  • Handle all formal communications on data strategy and data management at Hilton including education
  • Drive clear agenda, communication, and value creation for Enterprise Data Governance Councils

  • Solid grasp of Data Governance principles, supporting technology, and implementation models
  • Ability to effectively integrate, contribute and overlap with other business and technical functions
  • Ability to formulate objectives with clear business value and demonstrate progress along the way
  • Ability to drive enthusiasm around the value of Data Governance for the organization

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years of experience in Technology or a related field
  • Five (5) years of experience with data governance and data quality tools
  • Two (2) years working with Cloud platforms
  • Two (2) years leading teams of at least 1-3 people
  • Advanced information visualization skills

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus six (6+) years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus twelve (12+) years of Technology related experience
  • Twelve (12) + years of experience in Technology or a related field
  • Experience with Data Quality management concepts and tools including IDQ (Informatica Data Quality)
