A Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all maintenance issues within the hotel to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while performing daily checks, repairing equipment, and coordinating renovation projects.
Position Purpose
To supervise and execute repair & maintenance work in all areas of the hotel and support the overall success of the hotel by living our Hilton values and demonstrating our HGI brand personality behaviours every day.

Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Execute duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or General Manager.
- Plan the work for the maintenance department and distribute assignments accordingly during absences of the Maintenance Manager
- Support the Chief Engineer / Maintenance Manager in his/her attempt to reduce hotel operating costs and conserve energy and water
- Always deliver ‘fair share’ in team task elements of the role and support colleagues whose workload may temporarily be heavy.
- Assist the Chief Engineer / Maintenance Manager in planning, offering and conducting regular skills and procedure trainings for Team Members from other departments.
- Provide constructive suggestions/feedback to the Maintenance Manager on product, processes and Guest complaints
- Supervise other Maintenance Team Members on shift, check repairs and recognise Team Members for work well done
- Assist the Maintenance Manager /Chief Engineer in providing a work environment to Maintenance Team Members that allows everyone to thrive and fulfil their potential
- Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery and/or equipment
- Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including, but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and painting in all areas of the hotel
- Pro-actively seek feedback from guests when communicating with them while executing maintenance tasks to increase guest satisfaction.
- Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention to the Chief Engineer / Maintenance Manager
- Be aware of planned team meetings/learning sessions and attend as required
- Be a positive and very active contributor in meetings (e.g. Huddles) with the Maintenance team to help achieve / maintain a high level of trust & engagement
- Be a role model for others in regards to passionate, friendly service to colleagues and guests, demonstrating our HGI brand personality behaviours.
- Volunteer to participate in company campaigns like TwP or TM committees such as the Brighthearted Committee
