A Jr. Accountant is responsible for serving as an accounting generalist in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

What will I be doing?

As a Jr. Accountant, you would be responsible for serving as an accounting generalist in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Perform general accounting responsibilities to include, but not limited to, reconciling General Ledger accounts, reviewing discrepancies and problematic accounts
  • Account analysis and adjustments as instructed by Finance Manager and/or Director of Finance.
  • Process different financial reports
  • Participate in audits
  • Perform accounts receivables and accounts payables duties
  • Perform general cashier duties
  • Accurately process reports including, but not limited to, month-end closing, monthly forecast and variance, inventories, audits, etc.
  • Assist with general accounting duties, as needed
  • Vacations relief for the areas as assigned by Finance Manager and/or Director of Finance  
  • Perform any duties and responsibilities assigned by the Finance Manager and/or Director of Finance, based on departmental needs

In addition, to be succesful in this role the candidate must demonstrate the following skills and/or knowledge:

  • Relevant degree in Accounting or Finance, minimum required
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, required
  • Computer oriented with a strong knowledge in the creation or management of spreadsheets and/or formulas in Excel
  • Knowledge of other computer programs such as Word, Power Point, Micros and other database handling programs
  • Strong analytical and business skills
  • Strong focus on customer service
  • Ability to write reports and/or present information with a clear and business oriented focus
  • Fully bilingual in Englis and Spanish
  • Available to work different shifts and days (including holidays), as needed
