What does the job look like?
As a Bar Waiter, you are responsible for running the bar and providing drinks as requested in an efficient manner and according to proper procedure and bar regulations.
Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks:
- Ensure a consistent and convincing standard of service and maintain all brand service standards and Hilton policies
- Is responsible for ensuring that the service sequence runs as defined by the F&B Service Manager
- Ensuring all tables receive their drinks and food as requested
- Showing complete awareness of all drink and food menus and readiness to explain and recommend food and drink contents
- Masters the basic knowledge of cocktails and spirits
- Ensure operational knowledge of all outlets
- Active promotion of in-house sales by optimal knowledge of all the services of the hotel and the opening times and promotions of all F&B outlets
- Constant promotion of additional sales
- Full knowledge of all food menus, bar menus, wine lists and any other promotions which are in place
- Handle guest complaints, follow them up and report to the F&B Supervisor or F&B Service Manager
- Active contribution to service
- Is responsible for cleanliness, tidiness and maintaining the standards of service
- Fill in the store requests and fill in properly the breakages list
- The correct ordering of all goods required, and their storage under clean and correct conditions
- Participate in the daily briefings
- Take over from the previous shift and obtain all relevant information at the start of the shift as regards volume of business, VIP guests, tasks to be clarified and completed and special events
- Ensuring that the bar and all outlets are always ready for the next shift and that whatever has not been done is communicated to the supervisor
- Know how to use the Agylisis cash system. Draw up invoices at the end of the working day. Correct booking and cashing up if necessary for all services provided. Booking of all transactions
- Maintaining cleanliness of the restaurant and considering health, safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and manner
