As Assistant Director of Meeting and Exhibits at the Washington Hilton you will be responsible for overseeing the set-up and clean-up of all banquet functions in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
The Washington Hilton is conveniently located within blocks of Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan. This property is where numerous meetings and epic social events take place, as the pillarless ballroom is the go to destination for gatherings up to 2,600 guests.
What will I be doing?
Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Assist Housepersons with and oversee a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, shampooing carpets, washing windows, cleaning/waxing floors, removing and disposing of trash
- Supervise and assist Facilities Team with set up to ensure compliance with event specifications via the BEO as well as with clean up and break-down after events
- Conduct scheduling for the team, payroll, coaching and mentoring, interviewing, and providing feedback and progress on job tasks.
- Assist with planning, organization, and execution of all banquet functions with various departments
- Greet clients and guests and respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
- Participate in and lead department meetings, as needed including BEO meeting, departmental meetings, and individual Team meetings.
- Take part in payroll forecasting for the department and attend meetings as applicable.
- Inventory to be conducted and maintained on all equipment and meeting materials

1 year union experience in managing a team
1 year hotel experience or Facilities Management Experience
