Our team includes emergency medicine residents and attending physician who work with nursing to provide an optimal learning environment for all of the skills needed to provide emergency care to patients and families. The Unit Clerk must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit. This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to collect data reflective of the patient's status. What You’ll Do The Unit Clerk—Emergency Department is responsible for delivery of patient care. The successful candidate will be able to: Greeting and directing patients, visitors and physicians upon their arrival to the department Demonstrate the ability to process proper forms, schedule procedures, input and work on the CRT, and coordinate the desk area of the patient care unit Order entry via the CRT for all physician's orders on patients, general office duties for the unit, phone coordination and conveying overall outstanding customer service Demonstrate good telephone skills and able to assist others in a courteous manner, following up on the caller's needs Maintain confidentiality with all information Perform any and all other duties as assigned What You’ll Bring Current BLS certification Position requires fluency in English language to function in job environment appropriately Good interpersonal, communication, team-work, and customer service skills Strong organizational, problem-solving and follow-through skills Ability to multi-task constantly, react to changes quickly/productively, and tolerate interruptions Ability to perform work when no directions are given Demonstrate knowledge of current computer systems, equipment or programs used in the organization, knowledge of Epic a plus!
