About the Job


To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by assisting licensed personnel in providing direct nursing care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.  Primary Accountabilities\: Associate supports engagement through adherence to the I-CARE commitments. Provides care to patients in a clean and safe environment. Demonstrates effective communication with other members of the health care team and promotes effective team functioning. May have access to IV solutions, authorized medications and supplies as needed for patient care responsibilities. Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner. Collects, records and reports accurate patient information. Delivers basic care to patients as directed. Assists other associates to maintain productivity. Demonstrates dependability, reliability and flexibility. Competently performs routine procedures. Provides service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural and individual differences. Responds to call light in a timely manner. Utilizes Health First computer systems with regard to order inquiry and patient documentation. Contributes to the patient experience as evidenced by positive patient satisfaction scores and HCAHPs scores for department/medical center and/or written compliments by patients/others as well as consistent performance of purposeful hourly rounding and bedside shift report. Uses and cares for equipment and supplies economically.


High school diploma or equivalent. Must hold AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain. Must have current Florida certificate as a Nursing Assistant or completion of Nursing Assistant course and must obtain Certification within four months of hire. Must meet unit-specific care requirements. Must be able to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language.
