To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by improving efficiency and performance related to accessibility and patient flow, assisting in planning and directing all operational functions for designated departments, participating in development of policies and procedures and their implementation, and participating in selection of personnel, budget preparation, quality improvement activities and compiling metrics.   Primary Accountabilities Promotes associate accountability and competency through leadership and management practice. Provides input for annual performance appraisals and competency checklists for personnel on assigned shift on an annual basis and as necessary in a timely manner. Counsels and disciplines associates as necessary.  Encourages associate growth and development through mentorship and goal setting.  Encourages associate participation in the clinical ladder. Responsible for scheduling and assigning personnel on assigned shift to ensure safe, adequate, and appropriate staffing for the unit.  Ensures compliance with JCAHO and other organizational and regulatory standards within the department.  Demonstrates ability to provide patient care utilizing nursing process as evidenced by documentation of process and discharge planning. Contributes to the patient experience as evidenced by positive patient satisfaction scores and HCAHPS scores for department. Ensures consistent performance of purposeful hourly rounding and bedside shift report.


Current Florida RN license BSN required Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain Minimum of two (2) years acute care clinical experience preferred Hold current or acquire certification in clinical specialty Able to speak and understand the English language Sound organizational skills to include time management and problem solving Highly developed communication skills, verbal and non-verbal
