Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the general direction of the Radiology Director and the Radiology School Program Director, the Radiology Technology School Program Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the direction, coordination and daily operation of the Radiology School. Duties include curriculum development, didactic /clinical instructions, correlating and coordinating clinical education with didactic education and evaluating its effectiveness, student supervision, student evaluation, academic counseling and coordination of various clinical sites in conjunction with the Program Director. The Radiologic Technology School Program Clinical Coordinator assesses and ensures the effectiveness of the overall program in Radiology Technology while working directly with the students and assists with maintaining all standards for accreditation by the JRCERT.
Your role will include:
- Coordinating clinical education schedules, student placements, materials, and communications
Assist in program curriculum development, assessment, and revisions
- Maintaining documentation to support accreditation and regulatory readiness including all clinical rotation documentation
- Oversee student discipline and performance counseling
- Review and assist with student handbook and clinical handbook revisions
- Participate in the student selection process
- Orient clinical preceptor/instructor to program philosophy and mission and their responsibilities for student supervision.
- Disseminate student clinical requirements information to all clinical faculty
- Determine student competency needs affecting clinical education site assignments that assure exposure to all areas of the program competency list.
- Develop student clinical site assignments.
- Produce clinical room rotation schedule.
- Meet with students, clinical faculty, and clinical preceptor/instructor, as the need arises, and accept complaints and attempt to resolve according to the radiologic technology program handbook.
- Survey the students to evaluate the clinical faculty, clinical site climate and clinical liaison.
- Interact with clinical site management regarding current hospital policies and current program policies.
- Orient clinical preceptor/instructor to program philosophy and mission and their responsibilities for student supervision.
- Student advisement and tutoring
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor's from an accredited school of Radiologic technology
Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
Minimum of 1 year experience as an instructor in an accredited school of radiology technology required
