Work Schedule: 3 days per week, 3p-3a/Rotating Weekends

Join a high-performing emergency care team at HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast and elevate your nursing practice as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) across our comprehensive emergency service line. This dynamic role is intentionally structured to attract top-tier ER, ED, urgent care, standalone ER, and freestanding ER (FSED) RNs who thrive in fast-paced environments. Our emergency network operates 24/7, providing full-service adult and pediatric emergency care, on-site laboratory testing, and advanced imaging (including CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasound). Clinical care is delivered at our main hospital emergency department—a state-of-the-art facility holding a provisional adult Level III Trauma Center designation—as well as our affiliated HCA Houston ER 24/7 freestanding emergency care centers (such as Fairmont, North Channel, and Pearland) and our connected Care Now urgent care networks. As a reflection of our commitment to clinical excellence, our emergency service line is proudly recognized with elite national accolades, including being the only facility in Pasadena recognized by the American College of Cardiology as an accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation, a certified Primary Stroke Center, and recipient of the American Heart Association's Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award, Coronary Artery Disease Gold Plus Receiving honors, and the Healthgrades Critical Care Excellence Award.

Job Summary and Qualifications 

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

  • Accurately documents in the patient’s record a description of the nursing care provided.

  • Administers medication in a safe, knowledgeable and accurate manner. Follows laws, regulations, and hospital policy as it relates to controlled substances.
  • Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for assigned patients, including discharge planning, utilizing an interdisciplinary team approach.
  • Assists the physician with examinations, tests and procedures.
  • Carries out physician orders in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Completes and demonstrates proficiency with unit based clinical and age-appropriate nursing competencies.
  • Monitors and observes the patient and accurately records changes in condition and reaction to medications and treatment. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS issued from American Heart Association required
  • TNCC within 6 months of hire date
  • 1 year of clinical ER experience as a licensed RN required.
