Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general supervision of the Director of Quality Management, QM Manager assumes responsibility with daily operational direction of Quality Management functions. Responsibilities are aligned with the missions and values of the hospital.

In conjunction with the QM Director, this position is accountable for the development, management and coordination of the hospital-wide Quality Improvement Program.

What you will do in this role:

  • Supportive of the ethics and compliance programs set forth by HCA demonstrated by:
  • Upholds code of conduct.
  • Adheres to dealing appropriately and fairly with employee misconduct.
  • Enforces all ethics and compliance policies as they pertain to his/her area.
  • Provides and assures ethics and compliance education as requested by the ECO and/or corporate initiative.
  • Sets an example to all staff in their daily activities.
  • Adheres to policies on appropriate access.
  • Respects patients and healthcare confidentiality
  • If an ethics and compliance issue is identified, takes appropriate action to correct and/or report any violation that he/she is aware of in the department or the facility.
  • Supports physician partnership development between physician and quality management services.
  • Assumes leadership role to enhance financial strength of HCA Houston Medical Center.
  • Works with director to ensure the provision of adequate human resources, information, physical and financial resources are in place, in order to in support of their identified performance and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures the participation of staff in performance activities and activities to improve patient safety.
  • Educates hospital staff on evidence based practice initiatives.
  • Develops and recommends protocol and guidelines for evidence based practice initiatives.
  • Oversees, analyzes, and trends data related to throughput of targeted patient populations.
  • Provides data to outside agencies as required and/or other applicable hospital leaders to initiate change as appropriate, in order to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Represents the hospital at local, regional, or other applicable levels related to best practices for patients.
  • Assures compliance with all TJC and other applicable regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building skills.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned within scope and practice of licensure.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelors Degree required
  • 3 years experience required in acute care setting
