Job Summary and Qualifications
Responsible for assisting the Department Director in the planning, organizing,staffingand directing functions to ensure the effective operation of the department. To function in cooperation with the Imaging Director and the leadership team in developing plans,policiesand procedures to efficiently and effectively meet the objective of providing quality care. The Chief Technologist assumes the role as a leader in planning, directing and managing the department and staff to assure quality service on a 24 hour basis. The Chief Technologistis responsible for meeting JCAHO standards,complying with corporate policy and procedures, for managing supplies and equipment of the Department, for promoting teamwork with physicians and all health care providers, for promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and for appropriate resource management. The Chief Technologist must also support and promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital. Specific position duties may be found in the Competency Check-Off form for this position. Must possess the knowledge and skill to establish himself/herself as a leader of the Imaging Department staff. Must be capable of directing all aspects of the Imaging Department.
Required Job Qualifications include:
ARRT Certification with CT Certification
Current state licensure or permit to practice medical imagining
Current Certification in Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
Critical thinking skills, decisivejudgmentand the ability to work with minimal supervision in afast pacedenvironment.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
