Job Summary and Qualifications
We are currently looking for an ambitious clinical pharmacy coordinator to join our team. As the pharmacy clinical coordinator, you will provide clinical leadership support, mentor staff, and ensure enhanced patient outcomes. Clinical leadership includes department operations and staff compliance with clinical initiative programs implemented.
What you will do in the role:
- Provide leadership support in the development, implementation and maintenance of clinical pharmacy programs to ensure clinical services meet the requirements and needs of the patient population and community.
- Oversee the evaluation, development, and implementation of the pharmacy clinical programs. design and implement clinical initiatives, drug utilization reviews, and disease state management, evaluate and analyze clinical data, medication use, drug and drug class monograph development in support of clinical toolkit development for alignment with HCA values.
- Manage the formulary process, formulary class reviews, new drug monographs, and financial resiliency.
- Review current and develop Pharmacy policies and ensure compliance with regulatory/accreditation standards (e.g., joint commission, CMS) and HCA.
- participation in ancillary committees, prepare and coordinate agendas for committee meetings, participation in multidisciplinary committees by providing clinical resources and expertise to the interdisciplinary teams. (ie: P&T, antimicrobial stewardship, critical care, stroke, multi-disciplinary rounds, etc.)
- Provide oversight of pharmacy distribution activities including order receipt, product storage, controlled substance process, dispensing and other distributional functions.
- Provide leadership to pharmacists and technicians and support in the execution of clinical pharmacy programs.
- Coordinate educational activities for staff pharmacists, technicians and students.
- Ensure efficient operation of all pharmacy consult services; orient staff to processes as appropriate. act as a resource of clinical information for other pharmacists and healthcare providers.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor of science in pharmacy from college of pharmacy with minimum 5 years inpatient hospital experience or PharmD degree in pharmacy from college of pharmacy with minimum three years recent inpatient hospital experience as a staff pharmacist.
- PGY-1 and/or board certification preferred.
- One year in a lead or supervisory position preferred.
- Current Florida pharmacist license or licensure eligible.
- Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communications skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, pc skills.
