Sodexo is seeking an Environmental Services/ Custodial Operations Manager I for Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. Lahey is a 317 licensed bed facility that is in search of an Operations Manager for the evening shift. (3-11:30). The position reports directly to the General Manager and other management as needed. This role will cover inpatient as well as clinic outpatient areas. We are looking for an individual with healthcare management experience in the support service arena with a passion for working in environmental services. Lahey Hospital & Medical Center combines the renowned specialty resources of its medical centers with top-quality primary care services at community-based practices throughout northeastern Massachusetts. Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Burlington, encompasses an ambulatory care center serving more than 3,000 patients each day and a 335-bed hospital. Lahey Medical Center, Peabody, serves more than 800 outpatients each day and includes a 10-bed hospital.
Both feature 24-hour emergency departments, and an American College of Surgeons verified Level II Trauma Center is based at the Burlington facility.
Ideal candidate will have prior housekeeping experience along with healthcare experience and have excellent computer skills. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of 25 front line employees while maintaining a strong client relationship with the hospital. The ability to work weekends, and holidays will be required. Preferred candidates will have excellent customer service skills. This manager will place a large focus on the patient experience, customer service, team work, and positively affecting patient satisfaction scores. JCAHO experience is preferred. Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities at once in a fast paced environment. The ability to speak Spanish would be helpful managing this position, but is not required. Functional knowledge of Sodexo UOS, TRAKKAR, labor management and Sodexo Quality Improvement processes are also helpful, but not required.
Provides management oversight for Environmental Services exempt and non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Environmental Service programs are in place and functioning according to design to consistently meet all company, client, and regulatory requirements. Key Duties-Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexho safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory and maintenance.-Assumes GM responsibilities and authority in his or her absence-Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring compliance to operating standards. -Ensures compliance with application of all Sodexo Quality Assurance and Regulatory standards within the contractually agreed upon scope of services. -Establish and/or adhere to defined operating standards, develops and implements quality improvements and ensures direct reports and staff adhere to the standards and expectations. -Assists with Management of Environmental Service budget by ensuring full compliance to established operating standards, monitoring costs (e.g. labor, inventory, equipment, and material), and taking corrective action as needed.
