About the team
The SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting Team provides complete and accurate public company financial reporting to FIS investors and addresses the most complex and significant accounting matters for FIS. We support the Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer initiatives and handle a variety of accounting and advisory matters for non-routine transactions in a collaborative environment.

What you will be doing
  • Perform technical accounting research, determine proper accounting treatment, and complete documentation and analyses for various technical accounting topics and transactions, such as acquisitions, divestitures, derivatives, debt refinancing, new debt issuances, stock compensation, etc.
  • Assist with quarterly reporting and analysis and SEC filing (10K, 10Qs, and 8Ks) processes, procedures, and controls and drafting new disclosures related to recent transactions and new accounting pronouncements.
  • Identify, develop, review, and update accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the accounting research and proper treatment determination and documentation of various contract and situation specific matters.
  • Assist in the documentation and implementation of new accounting standards.

What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, practices, and procedures
  • Considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting standards (U.S. GAAP)
  • Ability to perform research within U.S. GAAP
  • Skills in analytical and statistical examination for complex problem solving
  • Ability to create spreadsheets and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office

Added bonus if you have
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Big 4 experience preferred
