Position Responsibilities/Requirements
Provides entry level technical/database support and related software support working under supervision. Performs activities as directed by management and senior staff to support projects that require DBA staff involvement. Install, modify, configure database and related software on z/OS LPARs. Work with senior team members troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving problems. As needed, work with application development teams and technical staff on application driven database changes and application upgrades.
Work location will be physically in Little Rock, Arkansas, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, or Voorhees, New Jersey. Office hours will be during normal US business hours. Possible travel to work with similar groups and provide service in other FIS data centers or clients of FIS.

Responsibilities
- Provides support to application development staff to ensure adherence to corporate database standards and best practices. Work with senior team members monitoring database performance and system resource use during application upgrades/changes.
- Monitors DB system and work with senior DBAs, Capacity, Systems, or Application teams as required to resolve potential issues.
- Follows all processes and procedures used by DBA staff. Provides improvement recommendations to senior DBA staff.
- Supports backup, recovery, general database maintenance programs and practices.
- Supports and participates in regular Disaster Recovery Exercises.
- Participates in recommended database training programs.
- Provide 24x7x365 on-call support on a rotating basis and perform other on-call duties as required.
- Support change implementation during evening and weekend change windows.
- Bachelors degree in computer science, business or related field or equivalent experience.
- Solid analytical, problem solving and time management skills.
- Experience in z/OS systems - ISPF, JCL, Databases.
