About the team
The team that manages financials for Unified Banking and Digital Solutions and interacts with operations daily, as well as communicates within the Finance organization related to this book of business. The products within UBDS represent the Community Core solutions that FIS offers banks and credit unions for in house and outsourcing solutions. UBDS also provides professional services around consulting, training and other programming services associated with these products. The Digital area of business provides financial institutions solutions around their digital needs including mobile, online banking and electronic banking. This Finance team collaborates and works well together to make sure to close the month, forecast for upcoming time periods and maintain the books in accordance with accounting policies and guidelines of FIS.
What you will be doing
You will be responsible, in part, for the general ledger accounting/reconciliation, forecasting/budgeting and reporting for an area of business within Unified Banking and Digital Solutions. What you will be doing
You will be responsible, in part, for the general ledger accounting/reconciliation, forecasting/budgeting and reporting for an area of business within Unified Banking and Digital Solutions. You will also contribute to Financial Planning and analysis for an area of this line of business. Responsibilities you will be accountable for include but are not limited to:
- Month end review of postings and creation of Journal Entries necessary across the P&L and balance sheets to close the books
- Coordination with operations and other areas of finance monthly for the forecast related to the remaining months of the fiscal year (inclusive of reporting schedule updates associated with each forecast)
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliation updates and validation for submission to management for approvals
- Financial planning and analysis for ad hoc reporting as necessary
- Annual coordination with operations and finance for Planning processes
What you bring:
- Attention to detail with knowledge of general accounting principles (in accordance with GAAP)
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment at the same time maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
- Organization skills in order to keep audit records necessary in this line of work; self-starter and ability to find efficiency improvements within the processes
- Ability to work well with the team and operations while keeping up good communication across all groups involved
- Bachelor's degree, Accounting preferred
Bonus if you have:
- Knowledge in the systems we utilize including but not limited to Hyperion Planning, Oracle Financials, Workday, SmartView Reporting capabilities
- Knowledge around ASC606 and or other principles associated with Software Accounting
