SPECIAL LOANS MANAGER
As the Special Loans Manager, you will be responsible for contributing to and managing the set up and/or processing activities related to special products including Adjustable-Rate Mortgages, Servicemember Civil Relief Act, Operational Compliance, Recast Loan Modifications, and other specialized products and servicing thereof. You will be expected to formulate strategies and planning related to establishing scalable Special Loan capabilities and improving the effectiveness and compliance of the department functions.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of all activities associated with Adjustable-Rate Mortgages
- Monitoring service delivery/productivity/quality standards and compliance to associated regulation and investor guidelines
- Ensure accurate and compliant loan servicing through ARM Audits, Exception Reporting, and Data Transfer Review
- Collaborate with other areas, when needed, to communicate processes and capitalize on opportunities, when possible, to promote Special Loan Servicing Excellence
- Management of all activities associated with the processing of Servicemember’s Civil Relief Act (SCRA)
- Responding to SCRA Requests or Tasks promptly
- Determining eligibility for benefits: begin, end and tail coverage dates and notifying customers accordingly
- Work reports to ensure accurate and timely processing
- Validation of Active Duty through the DMDC website
- Other SCRA responsibilities as needed
- Understand various Investor Requirements related to servicing SCRA loans
- Management of operational activities associated with products and/or services such as loan assumptions, Partial Release, Subordinations, Easements, Critical Field Maintenance, NY CEMA, 203K & 203B, Construction to Permanent, and Safe at Home maintenance
- Ensure accurate Loan Testing and Loan Transfers for all new clients for any Special Product impact
- Creation and maintenance of department documentation, including but not limited to policies and procedures
- Adherence to regulatory and legal requirements, including investor and state guidelines
- Processing and monitoring of department report requirements and workflow, to ensure accurate and timely completion and operational improvement opportunities
- Represent Special Loans and Special Loans processes with Investors both current and potential as well as any other time as requested by Leadership
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business curriculum or related area, or relevant work experience
- 2+ years of managing in a Special Loans Team in a Mortgage Loan Servicing environment to include training team members
- Attention to Detail with ability to understand complex transactions yet Visionary to continually move department forward in an efficient and compliant manner
- Results Oriented – track record of delivering quantifiable results to the organization
- Understands Special Loans products and servicing scrutiny by regulators and related compliance/risk implications
- Proactive approach to Job, Job Functions and Task Completion
