Entry/Intermediate Network Engineer
We are looking for a candidate to train in the role of Network Engineer. Candidate will assist with maintaining and administering our company's computer networks. Your primary duties will include maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. You will also be working closely with the users of our network to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.
Job Summary
First American’s Internship Program is a full-time paid internship that starts on June 13, 2022 and ends August 12, 2022. The Intern will work in a program designed to help college students gain experience and develop the technical, professional, and interpersonal skills that will be invaluable throughout their career. As a First American Intern you will gain exposure to working in a corporate environment within the Financial/Title Industry—balanced with intern-specific activities, executive level presentations and networking opportunities—while under the close supervision and guidance of a manager and/or mentor. For this intern role, undergraduate students are assigned significant work assignments to support a specific business function within IT.
Responsibilities
Help with day-to-day activities of the Network Engineering Team
Work with senior network engineers on troubleshooting and building proof-of-concept labs
Verify and validate configurations
Review logs of devices and do basic maintenance
Assist with various networking tasks, documentation, and testing
Network engineers are responsible for building and maintaining the day-to-day operation of computer networks that companies and organizations rely on. These networks typically include an intranet, extranet, local area network (LAN), and wide area network (WAN).
Job Qualifications:
We are seeking College/University students enrolled in bachelor’s degree programs with 0-2 years of work experience. Preferred Field of Study in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Information Systems. Network experience is a plus.
To qualify, candidates will possess the following:
Current student or graduating in 2022 majoring in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent
Basic network knowledge
Proficiency with various operating systems
Understanding of basic networking open-source tools iPerf, ICMP, etc…
Willingness to be a team player and work outside of standard hours
