Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator to join our team at a prestigious Skilled Nursing Facility in Maine. As a key member of our administrative team, you will be responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and providing leadership and guidance to staff members.
Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility's programs and activities
Review policies and procedures, and make recommendations for changes as necessary
Meet with department directors to discuss use of departmental policies and procedures, and establish a rapport in and among departments
Interpret the facility's policies and procedures to employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc.
Represent the facility at and participate in top-level meetings
Oversee the facility's marketing and census development plans
Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the appropriate VP concerning the operation of the facility
Maintains an adequate liaison with families and residents
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines
Review and develop a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections
Make routine inspections of the facility to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed
Maintain a good public relations program that serves the best interest of the facility and community alike
Delegate administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability to other staff personnel as deemed necessary to perform their assigned duties
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to healthcare administration
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or long-term care facility
Current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator's license and meet the licensure requirements of the State of Maine
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in long-term care administration
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines governing long-term care facilities
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to work effectively with residents, family members, and staff members
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Working Conditions:
Be involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies, etc.
Be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc.
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level in which they are currently functioning.
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
