Wells Fargo is seeking a Debt Capital Markets Associate to join our growing Corporate and Investment Banking team in Hong Kong.
In this role, you will:
- Support senior bankers in their coverage and execution responsibilities, including idea generation and interaction with existing and prospective clients
- Lead the preparation of written material, including pitch books, proposals, client materials and associated supporting analyses
- Prepare ongoing market update materials, and stay abreast of key market developments and establishing knowledge of the target client base and relevant market dynamics
- Assist in logistical requirement for clients and their investment engagement, such as roadshows
- Work closely with partners locally and globally from different teams
- Develop skills across a range of debt products, from senior bonds to subordinated instruments, liability management and ESG products
- Play a key role in the execution function of a transaction including but not limited to internal approval requirements, preparing materials, support and coordinate due diligence, negotiation etc.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within Investment Banking Program
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Ideally be based in Hong Kong, although Singapore based applicants may apply with consideration for a potential future Singapore-based position
- 2+ years of experience in Investment Banking, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Experience in or with exposure to Debt Capital Markets or Debt Syndicate
- University degree holder with a relevant focus
- The candidate should have or will need to obtain any relevant HK SFC-required licenses
- Diligent and focused, taking initiative to proactively improve our coverage, pitching and execution with core clients
- Strong team player, focused on team building and partnership within the team and with other partners
- Strong inter-personal skills, with an ability to engage and develop relationships with clients, and also internal partners
