Electrician (Six Month Temporary)
Hourly Wage: $53.04 per hour
Location: Entwistle, AB
As an Electrician at Drax, you will be responsible for maintaining the plant’s electrical systems, providing both regular and routine support to all electrical equipment. You will work closely with the Operator, Maintenance team, and Automation team to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Technical Responsibilities
Routine Daily Maintenance
- Regular Maintenance: Provide routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment ensuring adherence to safety, quality, productivity, and environmental standards.
- Mechanical Work: Install, maintain, inspect, and repair a wide variety of mechanical equipment.
- Team Collaboration: Work with other trades in a team environment to enhance safety, efficiency, quality, and production.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with local electrical codes and safety standards.
Shutdown and Strategic Capital Projects
- Project Assistance: Provide expertise and assistance in project planning and execution.
- Collaboration: Work with maintenance team members and Drax staff to ensure project safety, efficiency, quality, and timely completion.
Mentorship and Leadership
- Safety Program Champion: Actively contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legislation and regulations.
- Apprentice Mentorship: Mentor in-house Electrical Apprentices in their professional development.
Minimum Requirements:
- Certification: Red Seal Certified Trades Professional.
- Experience: 5+ years of electrical experience, preferably in pellet, particle board, or fibre board industries.
- Independence: Ability to work independently with strong mechanical aptitude.
- Technical Proficiency: Computer proficiency and familiarity with work order systems.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changes in work schedules or tasks.
- Teamwork: Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- License: Valid Driver’s license.
