The primary responsibility of the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, Consultant II is to coordinate and support Sourcing programs and projects at CarMax.  This individual will work on projects within the Strategic Sourcing team that supports Technology at CarMax. The work will include Technology Statement of Work (SOW) review; coordination of assigned queues in Coupa Contingent Workforce (CCW); support for the Third-Party Intake process; spend and pricing analysis; and general project management.

What you will do – Essential Responsibilities

Technology Professional Services Coordination and Support -

  • Work closely with Category Management and Business Teams to understand Statement of Work requirements; review SOWs to ensure accurate reflection of technical and business requirements.
  • Track SOW volume, spend and other KPIs which can be used by the Sourcing team to formulate strategies and make key decisions.
  • Coordinate and support accurate system documentation for contingent workers in Coupa Contingent Workforce (CCW); ensure rate card compliance between SOWs, agreements, and the system of record; recommend process improvements to streamline use of the tool.

Spend and Pricing Analysis –

  • Partner with Sourcing staff and business stakeholders to analyze CarMax spend and/or Sourcing responses to generate analysis based off required parameters.
  • Formulate scenarios, models, and recommendations based off analysis.
  • Assist in the development, review, and analysis of supplier key performance indicators.

Sourcing Support –

  • Play a key role in the CarMax third party intake team; coordinating and scheduling meetings; documenting action items; and performing follow-ups as needed.
  • Act as integral member of Procurement team to identify potential process improvements and suggest efforts to improve overall performance and execute approved plans.
  • Work to ensure colleague and stakeholder expectations and requirements are met when implementing new programs by developing and fine-tuning feedback loop(s) and communications
  • Special Projects, Procurement Team Support, and other duties as assigned.

This role is a key member CarMax’s Coupa Contingent Workforce Program Management Office.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Work Location: This is a hybrid role with the opportunity to work from home. Candidates must be able to work from the CarMax Home Office on occasion as needed.
  • 2+ years in a business setting; Strategic Sourcing and Procurement or technology experience preferred but not required
  • Previous experience reviewing Statements of Work or other complex documents
  • Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.  High level of Results Focus and ability to prioritize tasks based on time sensitivity and level of importance.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with an ability to influence others
  • Strong customer service, analytical, problem solving, and planning skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with analytical and financial subject matters.  Experience performing detailed analyses of data or situations and supplier financial analyses.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with associates at all levels of the company
  • Interest in maintaining a high-level understanding of emerging technologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
