Principal Function:
This part-time position within the Celtics Youth Basketball and Development department will be responsible for supporting the day-of operations at Jr. Celtics Clinics, Leagues and Tournaments throughout the 2019-20 regular season.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Facilitate on-court training and skills development exercises to groups of youth basketball players aged 5 - 14
- Design and execute activities emphasizing fundamental skill improvement, understanding of the game, and positive character growth
- Serve as a positive role model to participants by being an active and hardworking leader
- Ensure an environment where participants develop great morale and receive positive reinforcement with an overall focus on participants' well-being
- Pre-event set up and post event breakdown for all events
- Greet parents and consistently engage with participants
- Help grow Jr. Celtics network through existing relationships with youth basketball organizations and facilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- 3-5 years' experience in a related field
- Professional experience in education and/or coaching is highly valued
- Ability to engage with a wide age range of participants and ability levels
- Overall dedication to youth development and understanding of youth basketball training
- Exhibit enthusiasm for the activities and strong awareness of safety
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Always demonstrate sound professional judgement
- Available to work flexible hours, primarily weekends and holiday/school break periods
