Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to support classroom instruction and student development in an educational setting. The ideal candidate will assist teachers in implementing lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and providing individualized support to students with diverse learning needs. Experience with special education, early childhood education, and working with children with disabilities is highly valued. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a positive learning environment and foster student success through effective classroom management and tailored instructional assistance.

Duties

  • Assist lead teachers in developing and implementing lesson plans across subjects such as literacy education, math, and curriculum development.
  • Support students with special needs, including those with autism or other disabilities, by providing behavioral management and personalized assistance.
  • Help create a nurturing classroom environment through effective classroom management techniques and behavior support strategies.
  • Engage in early childhood education activities, including toddler care and preschool instruction, aligned with Montessori or other educational philosophies.
  • Support students' social-emotional development by fostering positive interactions and communication skills.
  • Aid in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom setup for daily lessons.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience for all students.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including daycare or private school environments.
  • Knowledge of childhood development, behavior management, and classroom management techniques.
  • Experience working with students with autism or other special needs is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and students.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, and early childhood education methodologies such as Montessori or preschool programs.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers.
