BayCare Health Systems is currently seeking a Residential Advocate to join our outstanding and compassionate team at Northside Behavioral Health!

  • Facility: Northside Behavioral Health
  • Location: Tampa, FL
  • Status: Full-Time, Hourly
  • Shift Hours: Mon- Fri 6:30 am- 3:00 pm
  • Weekend Work: No
  • On Call: No

Residential Advocate Responsibilities:

  • Monitors self-administration of medications and reconciles medication.
  • Completes admission documents, living skills assessment treatment plans/updates, monthly progress notes, activity notes, discharge documents, environmental/infection control

rounds, and monthly fire drills.

  • Teaches/educates residents on basic living skills, kitchen/fire safety, preparation for weather emergencies.
  • Assists/attends to physical maintenance/cleanliness of facility, monitors supplies.
  • Completes maintenance requests, fire extinguisher checks, weekly bedroom/bath or apartment inspections.
  • Facilitates community meetings, social activities/groups.
  • Supports supervisor.
  • Informs supervisor of unusual situations/behaviors, completes incident reporting, communication log entries/shift report notes.
  • Transports residents as needed.
  • Communicates with treatment team.
  • Complies with AHCA regulations/mandates.
  • Reports change in condition to appropriate staff for intervention or hospitalization.
  • Responds to emergencies according to program procedures.
  • Provides direct monitoring/visual contact for residents deemed a risk to self/others.
  • At group homes, monitors food inventory, prepares/serves meals per menu, proper food handling, documents substitutions.
  • Conducts chart reviews for compliance.

Requirements:

  • Basic cooking skills.
  • Required Experience: 6 months caretaking OR customer service OR behavioral health OR enrolled in college seeking a psychology, social work, related field degree.
  • FL Driver's License (Coverage requires drivers to be 21 years old with 2 years driving

experience (drivers over 69 may require a Driver’s Road test.)

  • BLS (within 60 days)
  • First Aid (within 60 days)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
