Description:

The Registered Respiratory Therapist II is a clinical professional who utilizes the department's scope of services to access, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care as an integral member of the healthcare team. The Registered Respiratory Therapist II delivers Respiratory Care Services under the order of the physician and in accordance with protocols established by the hospital, other health care providers, or the board and functions in situations of unsupervised patient contact requiring individual judgment. Performs noninvasive and invasive procedures with minimal oversight. Preferred Certification includes NPR (Neonatal), required within 6 months if applicable. Required specific skills also includes Advanced Respiratory assessment and evaluation; Perform diagnostic testing; and Emergency care/Adult critical care. Required Certification & Licensure includes Active NBRC Credential for RRT.

St. Josephs Womens Hospital (SJWH) is part of St. Josephs Hospitals campus and member of the not for profit BayCare Health System located in Tampa, Florida. SJWH labor and delivery accounts for roughly 7,000 babies delivered a year and has a state of the art 64-bed level IV NICU that provides services ranging from neonatal ECMO, to active hypothermia cooling to complex micro-preemie management.

 

The mission of the Respiratory Care department at SJWH is to provide a compassionate, dynamic, state of the art environment of care based on excellence, professionalism, and knowledge for the women, newborn infants and their families throughout the Tampa Bay area.
