Position Description: RN
BayCare Health System is currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join the Medical/Surgical Orthopedic team at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. The Med/Surg Orthopedic unit provides care for patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries and managing musculoskeletal conditions. Patient populations commonly include total joint replacements, fractures, spine procedures, and post-operative orthopedic care, with a focus on mobility, pain management, and safe recovery.
The RN responsibilities include:
Independently caring for a group of patients using the nursing process and established clinical standards
Coordinating and delegating appropriate patient care activities to other members of the healthcare team
Demonstrating professional accountability and commitment to ongoing development
Performing the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned

Qualifications – External
Certifications and Licensures:
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required
Active RN (Registered Nurse) license required
ACLS Certification, if required by department
Nurse Specialty certification preferred
Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
Experience:
1 year of RN experience in acute care or
6 months RN experience in acute care with prior LPN experience and completed competency assessment
Specific Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Critical thinking and clinical judgment
Clinical skills appropriate to a Medical/Surgical Orthopedic setting
